New sales, price changes, and market updates in this area
This property is located in Ham, Marlborough, a quiet locality in the SN8 postal district, close to Marlborough Town Hall and the historic Midland and South Western Junction Railway.
Ham, Marlborough sits within the SN8 postal district and is marked by its proximity to Marlborough Town Hall, a building noted in the Swindon & District Directory of 1928 and described in a 2006 portrait by Richard Durman. The town hall’s front is a point of local interest, and its name appears in early 20th‑century documentation. The area is also associated with the Midland and South Western Junction Railway, an independent line built in 1884 to connect the Midland Railway with the London and South Western Railway. This railway allowed Midland and other companies’ trains to reach the port of Southampton and was later absorbed by the Great Western Railway in 1923, becoming part of British Railways after nationalisation in 1948. Passenger services ceased in 1961, with goods traffic ending between 1964 and 1970, and a small part of the line has since been reopened as the heritage Swindon and Cricklade Railway. These historical elements give Ham, Marlborough a character rooted in transport heritage and civic architecture.
