Dormans Park is situated within the postal district RH 19, just inside Surrey and immediately adjacent to the town of East Grinstead, which lies across the West Sussex border. The area is described as the highest point of south‑east Surrey, providing a notable topographical feature. It is served by the Oxted line, a railway that runs from the Brighton Main Line at South Croydon in Greater London to Hurst Green Junction in Surrey, where the line splits into two branches. The western branch continues via Lingfield to East Grinstead in West Sussex, while the eastern branch runs via Edenbridge Town in Kent to Uckfield in East Sussex. The South Croydon–East Grinstead section of the line is electrified with a 750 V DC third‑rail system and is double‑track throughout. The section from Hurst Green Junction to Uckfield is unelectrified and largely single‑track, spanning 24 mi 53 ch (39.7 km).
