Milton Combe is a village in Devon, England, that lies approximately 8 mi (13 km) from the city of Plymouth and about 2 mi (3.2 km) from the neighbouring village of Yelverton. The settlement’s name originates from its historic reference in 1249 as ‘Mile Cumbe’, literally meaning ‘Middle Valley’. In 1890 the Post Office adopted the current name to distinguish it from the many other localities named Milton in the surrounding area.
