Shutford, Banbury, OX15 6PN

Shutford is a village and civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, England, about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) west of Banbury. The village sits at roughly 475 feet (145 m) above sea level. In 2011 the parish had a population of 476. The area covers 640 acres, with real property valued at £2,840 in the 1870–72 period. The population at that time was 386, with 98 houses. The parish church was repaired in 1841 and there were chapels for Wesleyans and Primitive Methodists. The village is described as a chapelry in Swalcliffe parish, with a postal pillar-box under Banbury. The historical description notes the living is annexed to Swalcliffe and the village had a population of 386 in the 19th century.
