Shillingford, Wallingford, OX10 7EL

Shillingford is situated in the South Oxfordshire district, close to the market town of Wallingford, a civil parish on the River Thames. The locality is linked to Wallingford by the Shillingford Bridge, a Grade II* listed road bridge that carries an unclassified road across the Thames on the reach above Benson Lock. The bridge is single‑track and vehicular passage is controlled by traffic lights. Originally the south side of the bridge was in Berkshire, but it was transferred to Oxfordshire in 1974. The area is therefore characterised by its historic bridge, rural setting and proximity to the town of Wallingford, which lies 12 miles (19 km) north of Reading.
