Penmon, Beaumaris, LL58 8RN

Penmon is a village in Anglesey, Wales, situated on a promontory at the eastern tip of the Isle of Anglesey. It lies approximately 3 miles east of the town of Beaumaris and is part of the community of Llangoed. The name derives from Welsh, combining pen (head) and Môn (the Welsh name for Anglesey). Penmon hosts a historic monastery and a 12th‑century church; walls near the well beside the church may be part of the oldest remaining Christian building in Wales. The village also features an award‑winning beach, and the Anglesey Coastal Path follows its shores. Quarries in Penmon have supplied stone for notable structures such as Birmingham Town Hall and the two bridges crossing the Menai Strait. The area is popular with locals and visitors alike for its monuments, tranquillity, bracing air and fine views of Snowdonia to the south across the Menai Strait.
