Knowle, Braunton, EX33 2LS

Knowle falls within the civil and ecclesiastical parish of Braunton, a large village in Devon with a population of 10,217 according to the 2021 census. The parish covers a fertile low‑lying area known as Braunton Great Field, which adjoins the undulating Braunton Burrows. This area is part of the Core Area in the North Devon Biosphere Reserve and contains the largest psammosere in England. To the west, the parish meets the Atlantic Ocean at Saunton Sands, one of the South West’s international‑standard surfing beaches. Braunton is located approximately five miles (8 km) west of Barnstaple and is divided into two electoral wards, whose combined population was 8,218 at the last census. The village’s setting offers a mix of agricultural land, protected natural habitats, and access to a popular coastal beach, reflecting a blend of rural character and outdoor recreation opportunities.
