Saltaire, Shipley, BD18 3LX

Saltaire is a Victorian model village near Shipley in West Yorkshire, England. Built by Titus Salt between 1851 and 1871, the village was designed to provide better living conditions for workers at Salts Mill, contrasting the slums of Bradford. The mill ceased production in 1986 and has since been converted into a multifunctional site that includes an art gallery, restaurants, and the headquarters of a technology company. The village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage. It is situated between the River Aire, the railway, and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, offering a picturesque setting and a strong sense of historical identity.
